When Cecilia dies giving birth to a baby girl Isabelle, her husband Edward sends the baby to his sister Rose . Rose and her husband Price gladly take her in. Because they can't have children, they adopt Isabella as their own little daughter. After Isabella’s coming out ball at 16, society looks down on Edward for not keeping his daughter in his own house.
