How do you cope with sudden changes that flip your entire world upside down? One day your father's just the Secretary of State, the next he's President! Welcome to Samantha Groves' life. She used to be able to walk down the street without having to check for a tail every fifteen minutes but that all changed when the president was assassinated. Then the vice president, the Speaker of House, and the pro tempore of the Senate. Finally, leaving her father as president. When the White House is attacked once again, half of Sam's family disappears and she is sent away from her father. Some say the assassins just want the government to crumble but some believe there's more to the killing spree than that. What else could they be after? Can Samantha figure it out before it's too late? AND without blowing her cover?

The New World has been the last peaceful and resourceful country for nearly two hundred years. Or at least that's what they say. Samantha Ivory has been living a boring average life in an old town with lots of history. That is, until the news of a carnival coming to town ignites new excitement.
