Piper has the power to heal and Voldemort wants it badly enough to kill her for it.  Luckily for her, he hasn't found a way to extract it yet.  He sends her to Severus for him to watch over her while he continues his plan to kill Harry Potter.  Piper finds that Severus is a lot different from his master.  She even comes to like him.  But Severus is playing with fire, burning at both ends, and she is caught right in the middle.  Will feelings for him get in the way of her better judgement?  Will she survive?

*NOTE: This story takes place during the events of the last Harry Potter MOVIE, not the books.

Or so he thought. He immediately hated the girl with a passion and decided quite quickly that he would keep his distance and only interfere if her life was in imminent danger. As the years go on that task tends to prove more difficult than he originally thought because of one thing he hadn't foreseen.
