Unfortunately, when Oliver reaches into his pocket to remove the detonator, he realizes it's been damaged and will no longer work. Since he's invulnerable, Clark sends the rest of the team out, deciding that he will trigger the explosives manually. Unfortunately, the heat from the explosions turns some of the Green Kryptonite in Lex's vault into Black Kryptonite and as Clark escapes the facility, he doesn't realize that there's another Clark running around - the Red K version.

In truth, Clark's problems may have just really begun. A god, an angel, even a menace; those are some of the things Bruce Wayne have heard people call the supposed Man of Steel. Deep down, he knows those words are insufficient in describing the red-caped seemly all-powerful being. Determined to satisfy his curiosity, he travels to Metropolis in order to have a face to face with Superman. What Bruce doesn't know is that more than just fate may be at work. Inbetween crime fighting there's life. Life for Batman and Superman even if their villains don't see that. Batman especially has been dealing with more than he can handle and Clark is tired of seeing his friend so stressed out. So Clark suggests a trip to his parent's farm that Bruce reluctantly agrees to. Bruce knows he'll regret it, but goes anyway. For what reason..he doesn't know.
