With a new prophecy on the line and a new child at camp who is seemingly the supposed villain in the prophecy, at least according to Rachel, all the Olympians and their children are trying to appease young Thea Sinclair to ensure that she doesn't go evil, though Thea herself has no idea of what the hell is going on. Percy, on the other hand, just tells himself that he totally doesn't care about how his new little sister is suddenly the star of Camp Half Blood without even doing anything to deserve it. Then she stupidly spills some strange perfume in the Aphrodite cabin while saying Percy's name, and poor Percy's life takes a turn for the worse.
His mom flies away to Australia with Paul and their unborn daughter, leaving a note saying that she can't raise a son as dangerous as Percy any longer.
The entire Olympian Council, including his own dad and both the camps start hating him for no reason.
Nico dumps Will for Thalia and Thalia quits the Hunt for Nico, like WHAT?! (And it's a second time. You'll find out soon)
And, worst of all, Annabeth enters a coma with no guarantee of ever waking up.
So then Percy does what anyone would naturally do in this kind of a situation. He runs. Runs far away and hopes to be left alone for the rest of his miserable life. Only to have a Princess Anna pulled on him by young Thea Sinclair.
