Her ears tuned to the sound of his shoes on the floor, she lowered her gaze as he approached her.
"You really think you can kill me?" He stopped, seemingly close to her.
"I do." She defiantly raised her gaze, despite his warning to never look him in the eyes.
"You're foolish." He smirked, but it was not a smirk of arrogance, rather amusement. Amusement toward her. "Too many people have tried to kill me. Does it look like any succeeded?"
"I don't know, you look dead to me" She joked, in order to fight her rising fear.
" I wouldn't crack jokes if I were you, sweetheart. You don't know what I can do."

Her voice cracked, and tears threatened to spill from her brown eyes. The room fell silent for a moment. My brothers exchanged looks, and then, without warning, we all burst into laughter. Nefeli stared at us, completely confused. Cole, finally calming down, wiped his eyes and looked at her with a smile.
