Nagito Komaeda was a seemingly normal teenage boy,but in reality he was the farthest thing from normal. He attends the infamous school, Hopes Peak Academy as the Ultimate Lucky Student. Nagito's luck was intense...his parents died when he was a child due to it. He's lost everything due to this luck cycle. He tends to push people away because of this. He doesn't want to hurt anyone. But one day he meets Hajime Hinata, he talks to this boy in his class and eventually falls deeply in love with him. Only his friend, Chiaki Nanami, knows this fact. Nagito tries to ignore this because he doesn't want to hurt Hajime. But another big factor is his sexuality. But soon this all changes....

Hajime Hinata wasn't expecting much when he won the lottery to attend Hope's Peak Academy. The only reason he applied was so he could guarantee scholarship money to go to the same university as his childhood friend Chiaki. Being an average student, he didn't think he would make much of an impact on his classmates or even the school as a whole. I Hate The Reserve Course
Hinata always admired Hopes Peak Academy. He always saw it as a place where people with incredible talent deserve to go to. So when Hinata never got a letter for the Main Course, he had no choice but to join the Reserve Course. He still attends the school, so what could even become a problem? Komaeda doesn't see his talent as a real one. He knows that luck isn't something that should be considered an achievement. Compared to all of the other talented individuals he shares a class with, Komaeda sees himself as a mere nobody. He knows that there's only one group of people that he is truly better than. Hajime Hinata is on a class trip to Jabberwock Island with ultimate students at Hope's peak academy. Although he's with kids from school and would most likely get along with them...he feels a strange awkwardness when around them. There's a catch though, Hajime isn't really like the others; he doesn't have an ultimate. Because of that, he thinks the others might look down on him. But there is one student that looks down on him the most, Nagito Komaeda: the ultimate lucky student. He believes since Hajime doesn't have a talent, he's not valid like everyone else and decides to put him down for something he can't control. Hajime just wants to be friends with everyone, but because this inconvenience he's very insecure about being around the others, and distances himself. Then Kazuichi Souda and Chiaki Nanami decide to include him since they feel bad, they just want him to be happy.
