Accused of the murder of an esteemed councilman, Y/N Ink is forced to run from police to protect her family's secrets, as well as her own.
While finding refuge from Worcestershire's forces, Y/N finds herself on a train to London where she meets two people who are also running away from something.
Enola Holmes who is running from her brother.
And Tewkesbury Basilwether, who is running away from fate.
Y/N finds herself also having trouble with her fate, and after sticking around with her two new companions, she wonders if her fate was with them, opposed to life on the ram.
What happens when they begin to figure out what Y/N was running away from? Will she get to explain, or will they immediately turn her over to Detective Blanc, who has his soul set on catching her.
Will Y/N loose a friend? If not a friend, then perhaps a lover?

"There is one thing about an Ink that we don't run away from, we're quite proud of it, actually," Y/N said, taking the pouch of gunpowder off the table and shoving it into her pocket.
"And what is that," Tewkesbury questioned, eyeing the lighter in her hands.
"We always leave a mark."

❝ 𝐴 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑒, 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒. ❞ Anna read out loud, while I was staring at the flower that Lord Tewksbury gave me.

I always was sort of different. It wasn't my looks, my health or my social status. It was my mind. I am sick of men telling us, women, what to do. I am sick of my mother telling me to find myself a rich husband. I am sick of my Father being a member of the house of lords but I still won't be the person following him, even though I am the oldest. And why is that? Because I am a woman and that is the only reason.
But I decided to defend myself. I decided to make a difference.
My plan was to make women join protests against the sexism going on.
To inspire them to defend themselves and I was going to achieve my goal even if it meant that I would have to leave behind everything.
I only made one rule for myself to follow: don't fall in love.
But when I met the Viscount Tewksbury of Basilweather, I quickly knew that I had to focus so I wouldn't break that rule.
