In a world tangential to our own, where time and spirit collide to create a place unlike any other. As a group of mystical menacing apparitions and beasts threaten a mysterious town, a group of reluctant newcomers find themselves stepping out of one world and into a new one. This group is immediately promised death and forced to face wild beasts, a ghost haunting the cliffside, a murderous banshee, and voices from the forest calling out to them. Over the course of this haunting adventure, we meet Yamamoto - the romantic sake brewer; Jordan - the devourer of stories who seeks her own; Luan - the philanthropic doctor with an unsettling sense of obligation; and Ben - the vile man who uses victimization and villainy to try to save the town. Meeting this group upon entry and jumping into their stories is the Mayor; a man lost in this world longer than any other who may know how it all fits together, but who assuredly knows more than he lets on.
