Modern AU of ATLA of the Gaang in high school.
Aang is a new student at Elemental High School. He goes, having one big secret, he's the Avatar. What will come to this high school? Bullies? Romance? Training? Drama? Impending Doom? Sheer Happiness? Goofs?
Sorry if this is too similar to other stories, I haven't read all of them, but I hope you don't think I'm copying them. I can't help but include some of the same things because this is based on the same story as others.

Heimat: a place that you can call home; a sense of belongingness, acceptance, safety and connection to homeland A decade has passed after the final battle between the Avatar and the Fire Nation, a decade after the defeat of their Fire Lord. It is a time of prosperity for most, but the crimes commited during the war couldn't be reversed. Benders were taken away from their families, people were slaughtered, their belongings, homes and land taken away. This, had been the instance when it came to the northwest part of the Earth Kingdom, that had went on to become the Fire Nation colonies. The people of the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom lived on in the land that was given to them and gradually, they became one. They collaborated and cooperated in order to live and so they got richer, learnt to depend on each other for their survival. By the end of the war, the people, even though they came from different backgrounds, were one. A decade after the end of the war, the Avatar is commanded to solve the matter of whether the former Fire Nation citizens need to move or not. Aang believes the nations need to be separated. The people in the colonies do not, hatred starts to grow in their hearts. The Avarar will need the help of a companion more than any other time, and there is no better person to aid him than the secret waterbender that's part of the Fire Nation fleet, the woman who risked her own life to get him to safety, even though this had been the first time they had met in their lives. ATLA: Bonds Within Bending
welp I'm pretty sure the title says it all but I'll write a cheeky description anyway just because you're looking so cute today. It's a modern world but filled with bending. The Gaang you know and love have busy lives in the big city, this is their story, how they meet there, their emotions, what relationships build and crumble. What happens when the Avatar makes an appearance? Much like my last story this book will have multiple POV's of most characters. Speaking of the characters they are all young adults, ages 22 and up. I intend to stuff in a whole lot of drama, chaos, fights, sadness and soppy romantic moments so you and I can be thoroughly entertained, I'll try my best. High School Daze (Modern ATLA fanfic)
Summer break is over once again. Aang is starting his freshmen year at a huge high school. Lucky for him, his two best friends, Azula and Zuko also attend the same school. The school looks normal from the outside and even on the inside, but somethings going on with the school, something weird, and it's like the school is in on it. But if Aang is going to find out whats happening, he's going to need some help... P.S. edit: i wrote this when I was 10 or smth so it's extremely cringey 5 years after the war ended the Avatar team are living a normal life. Katara thinks her love for Aang is one sided, but their story is just beginning.
