She uses flashbacks in such a way that it holds the entire piece together, gives it flavor and draws in the reader into the world of her characters. 

The gradual yet unanticipated unfolding of events had me hooked in as I couldnt help but flip from page to page in honest curiosity to find out how it all ends. But when I thought I was finally done - and that it was all finally over  my whole psyche is given one final jolt that only keeps me wanting more.
