"You will not find me." Clara pressed the phone against her cheek and listened. "But you may try. You can search and search and search, but you will be spinning in circles, and I will always be in front of you. You will never escape from me." 

She sighed and snapped the phone shut. The message was the same, the voice distorted and harsh. The light from a distant street lamp reflected in Clara's eyes and danced on her cheekbones, and as she lowered her head she murmured, "You'll die one day."
