What starts as an ordinary day in dull suburbia becomes a nightmare when a high school teacher is bitten by a student, sending sixteen-year-old Athena Evans' life into a tailspin. A virus from the city has made it to Athena's hometown, causing regular people to "snap" and become vicious, bloodthirsty creatures.
As the virus spreads like wildfire through the country, she'll need to call upon everything inside her to save the lives of the people she loves. But there are secrets about the virus only her deceased mother, an infectious disease specialist, knew. Does Athena hold to one key to finding the cure?
