Dawn Montgomery has always loved being a werewolf. At sixteen, she is beautiful and fierce, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But after the incident in Connecticut that forced her pack to move to the suburbs of Maryland, Dawn can't help but feel a little drawn away from the pack. Everything in her world is turned upside-down, and she just wants to be normal. But how normal can a teenage werewolf be?

Then Dawn meets Christian, the human boy. The pack is full of whispers of more uprising, but Dawn doesn't want anything to do with it. When she's with Christian, it all seems to fade away. And she feels normal. But the law is holding her back from ever telling him the truth about being a wolf. She longs to tell him, but she knows that would result in him having to be killed. And then the question arises:

Where is Dawn really meant to be? Is she a wolf, or a human? Even she herself doesn't know the answer anymore.

When another incident threatens to expose the pack for what they are, Dawn is forced to decide. What is it she wants?
