behind stone cold bars, the spectres of what
one could never be staring you in the face,
nowhere to run from them.
and the past may also set you free,
as the carefree air hits your lungs,
you turn around and realise you have left
your worries far behind,
now that the truth is at last revealed.

the past will haunt us,
and only by looking it in the eyes,
we may finally find peace.
