Dean Winchester isn't much. He's a high school dropout who shares his home with his younger brother, Sam - and Sam's girlfriend - and who works at a scrap yard with his uncle. His routine is fairly normal. Get up, argue with Sam, go to work, come home, drink, find some entertainment, rinse and repeat. His life is fine. Good, even. Until the accident.

Castiel Novak is almost too smart for his own good - logical to the point of being cold. He graduated from Harvard's medical program at the top of his class, and promptly accepted a residency program at one of California's top hospitals. He's never been good at picking up on social cues, but he handles his job with as much grace as he possibly can. He's content with how he lives with everything he has, always throwing himself into his work. Until the accident.
