When humans almost destroyed the world, the supernatural took over. With the vampires being more populated out of the supernaturals, they ruled the world. The humans remained living their lives as long as they contribute in some way. Those that are criminals, homeless, or refused to fall in line, they become slaves, or pets to the vampires. Some are used for blood, others are used for sex. It's become a norm for decades. Every Noble or Royal has at least one human pet, besides the Princess.
The King is a Fallen Angel and His Queen is the last Pureblood Vampire in existence. They have a son and a daughter. The prince is a Fallen Angel, like his father. The princess, she is one of a kind. She is the only Hybrid Princess in the world. Hybrids are extremely rare, if one is born, it gets sick and dies within a few months of life. The princess is the only one that survived the sickness.
As the King and Queen prepare for the princess's 100th birthday, they decided to throw a ball where all of the nobles are welcomed. The catch is that they must bring their human pets for the princess will choose one. Despite the princess not wanting a pet, the King and Queen insist as it's her birthday present. Will the Princess pick a pet even though is not what her views are? If she does, will it change her life?

For as long as I could remember vampires ruled other humans. I found it that way and I believed that was an injustice. Not like I could do much about it. Once I turned of age, I would be sold as a blood slave, a pet and my life would possibly end. I never liked these creatures to begin with. No one will know a Duke laid a hand on me." I tug on the door handle begging it to release. The soft leathers chill against my warm skin mocking me of the current predicament. He doesn't say anything in return, just keeps down the road in the opposite direction of my home, "Okay, fine! If you want to take me, and I be the best woman you've ever held hostage... I need my dog." Think! Think! That got his attention. A horrid about of alcohol is in my system causing me to sprout idiotic ideas. I mean, what if the vampires eat dogs, "You'll be a good girl if I get your dog?" "On a vampires blood promise." I make an 'x' on my heart. It's an oath most in this world don't take lightly, "Just for you." "How ironic." But the weirdly formal looking attired man turned down a familiar road heading back towards my apartment. I never gave him the address, nor was I able to stay awake long enough to greet my little angel, but her nose bops in greeting were enough to tell me she's safe while I dozed back off in the care of a duke. ~ 18+
