The Parable of Fire and Steel

Ysmay Elen Riannon is the eldest daughter of Queen Adalia and King Dagorad of Cintra; she is born at a time of unusual peace, and from an early age shows signs of inheriting her mother's gift of chaos and sorcery. It's not long after that her sister, Calanthe, is born and the nation rejoices - yet Calanthe does not inherit the same gift. The girls compete in everything they do - whether it is learning Elder Speech or the art of dueling, there is always a prize to be won; and Calanthe, more often than not, loses. In a fit of jealous rage, she lets slip a carefully guarded secret and in consequence, changes the fate of not only Cintra - but the entire Continent.
