After several days spent traversing the surrounding environments in search of a remedy, she winds up at the base of the ruined Tower to excavate a possible lead, where the two pods begin to receive strange readings from 9S's vacant body. Meanwhile, A2 has taken shelter in the nearby forest, reflecting on the events of the past several weeks in solitude. Overlooking the landscape of dense tree and foliage, she witnesses a ball of fire fall from the sky that heralds a protocol as ancient as the long-dead civilization that YoRHa claimed to fight for, culminating in a whole new chapter in the androids' endless war...
