41 parts Complete Mature"I hate this," Tom says, letting out a breath. "I hate that we don't know how to act around each other anymore." He looks at me with furrowed brows.
"I-I don't know what to say," I look at him. I really don't. "This is what we wanted."
"We?" He turns to me quickly and crosses his arms. "Let me make it clear. I didn't want this. I respected your decision and understood your reasons. But that does not mean I wanted it." He spits. I raise my eyebrows in surprise. He's frustrated, and I know that.
"I'm sorry, Tom. Things have been going well. It's been stress-free. That is what I wanted." I cross my arms and frown.
"Yeah, stress-free," he scoffs. He turns away from me again. "I'm glad you think so, and I'm glad you've been doing well. I just wish things were back to the way they were." The doors open and he steps out, walking in the direction of my room.
"Tom, I can take the bag." I walk after him, reaching my hand out for his arm as he jerks it away from my touch.
"No, I want to carry it to your room. It's heavy and it hurts your shoulder." Even mid-fight he's taking care of me.
