Layla Knight, a troubled third year college student who puts on a tough girl act in front of her college peers and in front of her abusive dad and stepmom. Layla has good grades (in which she doesn't want anyone knowing) and one thing she loves the most in the world is writing about love... although she's never been in love herself.
After being expelled from college, her dad reached his limit and sent her abroad to study in a private university where she is also forced to look for a job.
Layla being frustrated at the new university's hall, a guy bumped into her and she decided to release her anger on him. After releasing her rage, she went off to look for a job in which she coincidentally found a writing firm called "Lux Quinn's Writing Firm." She applied and immediately got the job as an editor. Little does she know her boss, Ace Quinn, is the deaf fourth year student that Layla released her range on.
What will happen between these two? Will it turn to love or hate? How will communication work...?
