Five researchers go head to head with one long-lost monstrosity.
After weapon testing tears open a series of tunnels beneath the Marianas Trench that have been sealed for thousands of years, questions about the effects on the environment are raised. Davis, Blakely, Bo, Isak, and Peter make up the Mako Expedition-a group of marine researchers that take to living in an underwater base to study the effects of the testing on local sea life. What they don't know is that the detonations have released something living beneath the trench, and it isn't happy. With a storm rolling in and no help from home, it's up to the humans to face off against a creature from myth that's hellbent on destroying them all.
