This story is in the setting after The Last Jedi, but there are changes to the big plot points in TLJ. But will be explain. Including: No force connection between Rey and Kylo (despite them having a pull to one another), Finn has Jedi powers, Palpatine DIED in a return of the jedi and it stays like that(so none of the Rey Palpatine story line), and so on. I will explain further has the plot goes in.
This is a story meant to bring you into the story line as it is. YOU being just one of the main characters in this world (again, beside Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo).
Also this isn't a smut fic. There will be no sexual interactions with any characters.
