Genesis' lifestyle was already extraordinary. She lived in a Victorian mansion, she went to Night School, and her adoptive mother was the head of the most notorious vampire clan in the world -- Genesis was a Spinera. But when history catches up to her, everything she's ever known grows more bizarre.

Genesis learns that she is not the foul-blooded human her mother had told her she was. It was magic that kept her from realizing her true self. But when the sorceress who'd cast the spell dies, Genesis learns the truth: Genesis is a vampire, the first naturally born bloodsucker of all time. That means that there is someone after her, called the Protector, who is determined to end her life in order to exterminate all vampires. The only way to stop the genocide of her entire family is to find her father, a man she'd never even laid eyes on, and retrieve a weapon that may fend off the Protector.

With the help of a sorcerer named Hougan, Genesis will race against time in order to save her loved ones. She just hopes she can fight her urges to kill, because if she sips even a drop of blood, everything she knows will fall to ruins.
