Lavender was a happy girl, with no worries. However that was before the accident. Now each night she hears it. Its starts of quiet but slowly it gets louder. 

The sea is calling Lavender.

But will she answer?

I won't survive. I'm sure of it. Strong wind ruffles through my clothes and hardly allows my eyes to remain open. I'm surprised that I'm still standing on the rock and haven't been tossed into the whirlwind. Huge waves crash down upon the rocks making deafening sounds. I open my eyes wide enough to see the next wave coming. As it comes towards the rock, it reaches the height of a three-storey building and seems to loom over me for some time, like a monster looking at its prey with hungry eyes, before finally crashing down towards me like a waterfall. While it comes down one single thought comes in my mind. This is how I die. Then the waters devour me. ___________________________________________ What's the worst crime you could ever commit? Angiela Seafela, a librarian stuck inside a mansion alongside other friends due to an infection. After going through their day, they realized something was wrong. The infection weakened her but it seemed that they could cure it. There is a way! But in order to stop the infection, it required a sacrifice. Something that they held onto very dearly, to now let go and face the finale of this crumbling underwater world. [Note: This is a story I made personally. I'm not a writer; I just love expressing my creativity. This short story is best read from the Prologue to the Epilogue. And it isn't long till Riley does drown herself among those gray memories, shutting and shunning the world forever, in a place too far to reach. She is already so gone, that every one of her friends and family are very close to giving up, and on each tick of the clock Riley is close to letting go. Will a curious stranger's words save her, or will Riley try to save herself? *If you read the summary, and decided that it is some sort of typical clichè , I'd like to tell you that this is NOT a cliche 'damsel-in-distress-saved-by-a-knight-in-shining-armour' story at all. You won't find anything such as that, as the tags suggests too. But what if these creatures were different from what we thought they were? What would happen when one of them needs help? Seeking out the aid of a teenage boy, who is more involved in their world than he knows. When Alex wakes up in the hospital, ranting about a girl and water, he is assured that his hallucinations were a side effect to almost drowning, and he was unconscious for nearly two days. He is released from the hospital, and life seems like it should return to normal...but he's still haunted by his "hallucinations" He still knows what he saw was real. He saw a shadow at the water's edge.
