While legal assistant and social misfit Hope struggles through the doldrums and tedium of her daily grind, the goals she pursues dwindle from lofty to mundane.
"Maybe I can get that promotion next year, or at least a bonus... I won't go over 160 on the scale... Tonight, I'll do something more than watch another season of sitcoms... I won't become the crazy cat lady..."
