The Philippines proudly boasts to be the only Catholic nation in Asia. Catholicism is so much alive in this small country that it has so many Catholic traditions being practiced by religious Filipinos. One of these traditions is the week-long commemoration of the Passion of the Christ where almost every town conducts a procession of saint statues with its devotees. Going through the town's narrow streets en route to the church, this is where it all started for Roma-a Filipino-Italian sculptor who spends his Lenten season in La Douleur City, Philippines.

It was such a privilege for Roma to see his works being paraded on the streets. Yet hearing one sorrowful yet angelic voice made him more privileged than he already is. He just heard one voice. Without knowing who was it. Without knowing what she looks like. One voice. And Roma knew that he'll carve whoever it was once he saw her.

Carving the Sound of Aria is a light romance between two religious people serving the Catholic church in their own ways. May it be the faith in God that brought them together or whatever. But who knows? We don't even know if Roma carved the owner of the voice.
