The unresolved trauma from Kalim's past had begun to ripple from the depths of his subconscious, triggering out of body experiences and severe nightmares due to stress.  In his nightmares and daydreams, he sees the ghost of an old woman, moving closer to him each time he closes his eyes. Unable to escape his own mind, he has no choice but to follow her and confront his past trauma in order to end the war in him, before he falls victim to his own suffering and addiction.
