Gappy also known as jo2uke higashikata has gone to japan with his family and decided to go to the U.A.
He is cold and determined, he doesn't fear death and usually performs well under pressure, but he is soft and loves his family, he isn't just a cold blooded killing machine, he jokes around, he often feels embarrassed, and likes to have free time so that he can procrastinate.

He always had an immense lust for gaining knowledge, he never liked practical work and he isn't as empathic as you think and that's why he isn't cut for the hero life, he wants a peaceful life as a researcher or as a scientist or at least something like that, he may even consider helping his big brother Joubin in the Higashikata fruit parlor business.

During the story he meets a girl that he likes and he his task is to find a extremely rare fruit that can cure a disease that gets passed on each first son of his family.
