I Want To Be Saved

"Beautiful." Her grandmother exalted.
"You think so?" Imani asked, eyes still fixated on the mirror.
"I know so."

For her grandmother, it felt like she was having a conversation with a whole new person. After countless days and nights reciting the book of Psalms & praying for the same thing, God finally answered her. Starring in admiration, she took a moment to thank Him for His faithfulness.

Since her grandmother received a promotion at her job, they had to move away to a small town. Imani Johnson, an African American junior who gave her life to Jesus this summer, now has to attend a new secular high school and will be facing various battles of temptation & hardship.

Grayson Myers, a Caucasian street-smart teenager who faced a lot of childhood trauma & is currently staying with his wealthy aunt & uncle in their mansion after moving from plenty of foster homes.

"Dammit, I can't stand people like you. Always have this idea that you're better than everyone, huh?"
"You don't get it, don't you?"
"And what is Mother Teresa here gonna do, pray about it?"

"I know you already have this thought of me being "perfect" wrapped around your head... but please, let me help."

Together, they manage to build a heartwarming friendship & Imani takes every chance that she gets to bring her friend closer to Christ.

"You think you can pull that off?"
She looks up at the sky.
"No, but Jesus can."
