"You think so?" Imani asked, eyes still fixated on the mirror.

For her grandmother, it felt like she was having a conversation with a whole new person. After countless days and nights reciting the book of Psalms & praying for the same thing, God finally answered her. Starring in admiration, she took a moment to thank Him for His faithfulness. 

Since her grandmother received a promotion at her job, they had to move away to a small town. Imani Johnson, an African American junior who gave her life to Jesus this summer, now has to attend a new secular high school and will be facing various battles of temptation & hardship.

I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Hurt, pain, doubt, insecurity, temporary happiness, fear, toxic relationships, anger, anxiety, issues, and chaos. They were the unwelcome passengers on my road trip of life. While being pregnant with my daughter Lea, I was in a really dark place and one day I met some random girl in college name Nicole, she sat next to me on the hallway floor. Her being there was making me tremble from the inside out. But it wasn't her, it was Jesus in her. The way she let Jesus take over her life, made everyone feel the presence of God. I started to sobbed and she hugged me (without knowing me) then I cried even harder. She said, "there's nothing you can do that will make God unlove you." To make the long story short, that day I surrender my life to Jesus and made a friend for life. I decided to make this 39 days bookish of writings because when life hit us hard we need a reminder of hope, joy, faith, love, and worth. The thing that inspires me every time I find myself in great difficulty is the knowledge that God loves me unconditionally, despite all my shortcomings.

The world was full of trouble. Full of confusion and a catastrophic dilemma. One couldn't imagine at what destructive measure it would disintegrate into. While so many things were done to make the world a better place. At some point, it would later be revealed that the biggest problem was not a lack of educational facilities or a lack of health facilities. Believe it or not, Africa, also wasn't the world's biggest problem. The problem with the world today is sin. Sin brought about problems that would perpetuate into many more generations to come! It's almost unbelievable that someone would leave greener pastures to settle in a beat-down environment like Earth. One would wonder what this being could ever want. If life existed beyond the surfaces of our universe, why stay? If there was the possibility of walking with a glory that outshined the brightness of the sun, why hesitate? God cannot love us anymore than He loves our neighbor. His love tank is so vast that it accommodates everyone. Had He only sent Jesus Christ to the rich or the poor in African households, His love would then be conditioned to those that qualified. What makes His love so unique and strange is that He loves the broken and the sinners. He loves those of us that are unlikeable and unattractive. He persuaded His only son to die gruesomely to have all of mankind at His bosom. In the movies, opening doors and buying a bouquet of flowers is symbolic of love. In families, love is expressed in many different kind of forms. Even animals have ways in which they show affection. While all of that might stand out. It cannot be compared to the love of God. God can feel love, and He is love!

Not until then did he realise, God never gave up on Him. Everything happened to him for a reason. He never left his side, God was with him every step of the way. He crawled his way back to God and was saved.
