After hearing about the SAO incident on the news, (y/n) decides to end his miserable life with a nice bang. He "borrows" his brother's Nerve Gear Headset so he can hop into SAO and die a warrior's death.

Upon arriving, (y/n) quickly gets back into the swing of things, being a former beta tester. (y/n)'s level quickly climbs as he smashes through floors with the ferocity of a demon, attracting the attention of an old rival during the beta, a certain black swordsman.

(y/n) also quickly discovers the weakness of the people trapped in Sword Art Online. They'd all rather wait for someone to come save them than to stand and fight for their lives. With the help of some new comrades, (y/n) takes it upon himself to purge their weakness, and bring strength to the people of Aincrad!

Since the "Sword Art Online Progressive" movie is dropping this year, I thought it was perfect timing to write my own version of this arc with my own twist on it. The story focuses on Kirito waking up after beating the death game of "Sword Art Online" and learning that Asuna isn't awake, yet. Not being able to handle the guilt, he loses all of the swagger and confidence that he once had in the original game. Kirito learns that Asuna is in a different VR world and with the help of his friends and sister, he must save Asuna from a threat unlike anything that he faced in the original "Sword Art Online."
