*Summary* Maddy's Pov: It all started on a rainy Sunday morning, I was walking in the super market where I worked for extra money on the weekends. I switched with my coworker and rung up the last person on my line. Not looking up "that will be $30.50 but with card $25.10" I said finally looking up. As I looked up one thing caught my eye, the customer had bright green hair that you could probably see from a mile away. My eyes scanned over his body noticing he was wearing a gray nirvana shirt. He handed me his card looking up slightly. "Michael." He mumbled. Me being me I just responded with "Maddy." That's when it all began.

Jay is a bit of a misfit. In fact, if it was the 1950s, you may even call her a 'greaser' with her signature leather jacket and '78 Trans Am. She spends her days working as a drum and guitar teacher at the local music store, and her free time playing guitar in her garage band, Novus Orsa. Beneath the surface, though, she hides a secret that has nearly ruined her life once, already. You see, Jay is a closeted lesbian in a military town. Between her ultra conservative parents and the ever-swirling rumors caused by the betrayal of her ex-best friend, Jay is ready for her senior year to be over before it ever starts. On her first day, however, a chance encounter (or collision) changes the trajectory of her life. Demi is a transfer student, upset that her father's job has torn her away from the city, her boyfriend, and the life she knows. It hasn't been an easy adjustment to such a tiny, boring town, and she doesn't even have a car to get away. The first day of her senior year is going terrible, and to make matters worse, her clumsy feet have her stumbling down the stairs. Two worlds collide and what awaits her below has her reconsidering everything she thought about this town. *Note- This story takes place in 2010 and is loosely based on my own high school experience. The more I got into writing it, the more I realized how much has changed in 14 years.
