Maddy's Pov:
It all started on a rainy Sunday morning, I was walking in the super market where I worked for extra money on the weekends.
I switched with my coworker and rung up the last person on my line. Not looking up "that will be $30.50 but with card $25.10" I said finally looking up.
As I looked up one thing caught my eye, the customer had bright green hair that you could probably see from a mile away. My eyes scanned over his body noticing he was wearing a gray nirvana shirt.
He handed me his card looking up slightly. "Michael." He mumbled. Me being me I just responded with "Maddy."
That's when it all began.

“Hey faggot!” I winced at the sound of the one and only star quarter back. He wasn't wrong, I was gay, but that word was just so offensive. I hated that I came out, hated the fact more than you could ever guess. It had cost me all but three of my friends, most of my freedom and every second that had been left of my childhood. When I loudly and discourteously turned down the prettiest girl in the whole school she screamed at me “what, are you gay?!” to which I decided to truthfully reply “yeah, got a problem with that?!” At the time I felt triumphant, giddy even and shouted at the top of my lungs 'I'm gay!' it had felt so good...but it wasn't worth the price I had to pay...not a week later I went from one of the top five popular guys to having three friends, had the shit beaten out of me at least once a week and went from relatively care-free to being the man of the house, a mom when mom couldn't be there, the cook the cleaner and the surrogate father three days later after I killed my father. I may have not been holding a smoking gun or bloody knife, but it was my fault he died all the same, even if the cops didn't see it.Complete

I step forward with full intentions to punch him again but the man behind me takes my arm, holding me back. I jerk forward to get off his grip but he takes my other arm tightly. "Alright! I'm done! I'm done!" I huff in defeat. " This story follows Astrid, a 26 year old female who ran away from home 10 years ago. The only reason she has come back was to get away from the hole she dug her self into. She is running away from her problems again. Life before she ran away wasn't as nice as the public saw it- the sherif's family, happy, and loving. Behind the doors it was orders being barked left and right with no warning or break. Not wanted to deal with this anymore, Astrid ran. On her voyage out, she ran into some trouble that seemed all fine until it wasn't. She comes back home and everything is all fine and dandy until, "Unknown: You thought you could hide forever? I found you, and I can find your friend, Nicole. If you want her safe, you'll be at the ring in an hour." Since Astrid's leave, the town suddenly had a motorcycle gang that hangs around, not realling doing anything in particular, but the sherif doesn't trust them much. I sit down on my bike looking around the school parking lot. Listening to music, I stand up begin to walk through the student-less parking lot. Honestly, it's not like I meant to be late. My music cut out causing me to hear a whistle. I stop in my tracks and pull my headphones down to my neck. Turning around, I seen a group of men with one guy who just smirked at me. "You new here beautiful?" one of the guys asked. "What do you think Einstein?" cocking my brow. "Ohh. Challenging? I like." he says walking towards me, about two inches away. I look at all the men in the group who had their jaws dropped, all except for one, "Touch me one more time, and I'll brake your arm in two." I stand and kick his back so he falls on the concert. But the only thought that's racking through my depressing brain right now as I stare up at the unexpectedly dark sky is... I should've brought an umbrella. I step out into the cold wind, splatters of raindrops hitting my cheeks. I trudge through the wet pavement, my sneakers soaking up the water. I stop immediately when I hear a helpless whimper coming from the alley beside a small bakery. I hear it again, low and sad. I step towards the sound and find two green eyes staring up at me belonging to a black cat. It's coat drenched and it's whiskers drooping low. Like it's frowning. Even in my damp mood I feel sorry for the little animal. "You don't have a home, little guy?" I ask, squatting to see it better. Did it just shake its head!? I blink a few times and sigh. I'm probably seeing things. It's been overwhelmingly negative lately. I reach a hand for the feline and it corresponds, tucking its head under it. I pet it's wet coat and stare at it as it closes its eyes. I can't leave such a pitiful thing next to the dumpsters and cold rain to be frozen alive or ravished by stray dogs. So I do what every human being would do in my situation, I take it home. And that was possibly the stupidest thing I've ever done. *** This is a story about a girl named Lucky. But of course she's everything but lucky. One day she comes across this odd feline who acts strangely like a human. Maybe he is really a human and Lucky has got her hands into a whole lot of trouble.
