Traumatized after their mothers death and their fathers imprisonment, Max and Ethan Valentine make the decision to return to their hometown of Riverdale to start fresh... Kind of.

With a 13 year old in the care of a lone 17 year old, this new life is hard to get used to as the siblings learn to work together. After a bad relationship, bullying and a crazy, sex obsessed aunt, Max finds it hard to trust and open up. Ethan, worried for his sister, encourages her to open up to the old friends she reunited with upon her return. She doesn't, pushing herself to exhaustion only to have that changed by a pretty boy with a neck tattoo, who steps up in ways you'd never imagine.

From teenage hook ups to tears and problems, first parties and falling in love, the siblings lives get thrown into turmoil when everything they thought they knew from their time in Detroit proves untrue. With Sweet pea by her side, Max feels near invincible, but with Ethan being her main priority, will Max and Sweet pea ever be more than 'just friends'?
