After her parent's divorce, Esmeralda Bennett is forced to move across town away from her dad and brother. She is introduced to a new school and new friends. During a night of partying, she has an out-of-body experience after drinking heavily and discovers her powers. She learns that she is a part of a different world and someone is out to kill her. She must the rest of the chosen kids to stop the Tidal Empire from destroying the world and taking over her earth dimension all while learning about her powers, her parents, and her past.
