This book is about a 15 year old boy named D-J who lives in the nearish future, where dreaming is no longer permitted. Everyone across the globe is vaccinated with a fluid called hyperfibrie and it stops your mind from dreaming. If any one her has seen the movie or read the book divergent you will know exactly what I'm about to say, those of you who haven't... I'll keep it simple for you. So like divergent there are things like factions but they are called fayes', there are four different fayes; there are the hunter/gatherers, the miners, the scanners, and the workers. The Workers work at the factory, they all prepare the hyperfibrie . The Scanners also work at the factory but they scan for the hyperfibrie. The Miners mine for the hyperfibrie oil. The hunter gatherers search for the dreamers, and they gather food and supplies seeing as the world had previously gone through World War 3.  he becomes a hunter gatherer, yet he hides a secret... I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel. I used prompt number 53: "When wildlife starts rampaging, all the humans are forced underground. However, they come to a terrible discovery that being underground is no safer than being on the surface."

People are starving, and the whole economy is falling apart. Since the government needs a new way to get out of this terrible situation, they are finding new ways to make money. Fortunately for them, science has blessed them with a new discovery- a new blood type. The people with the new blood type are said to be able to be resistant to most high falls, and also are stronger than the average human being. They are now capturing people with the new blood type, blood type AE positive. You just happen to be one of those people with the rare blood and you drive in an attempt to escape the clutches of the Obelus. Unfortunately, your attempt has failed, and you are now trapped in a cell waiting for testing. You are their newest subject, subject number 43.
