I'm Emerald. Tristan calls me Em. But you know, I don't think it really matters what he calls me, or the fact that he's been my best friend for as long as I remember. It didn't matter. Nothing mattered because I was going to leave. I was going to leave him... he knew that. I didn't want to leave him of course, I didn't want to hurt him. If I could, I'd stay with him forever. But... my heart is weak. Leaving him isn't a choice, it's my fate. Well, at least that's what I believed.
He didn't understand that I was ready. He couldn't understand that I was ready to die. Tristan's stubborn. He's always been stubborn and always will be. I love him.
And I never wanted to say goodbye.

I put on a show only for him in front of hundreds of people. I bring one hand up to my hair flicking them to the other side, trailing that hand down to my sternum and then my boob as I keep swaying my hips from to side, bending my knees as I lower myself a bit to the ground before sharply standing up again and slowly spinning around, circling my hips. "Why are you so cold to me?" Lo asked. She didn't understand it. This should be a blessing to them both. Tristan stopped at the threshold of the door. She could see his muscular form tense, his large hands clenched at his sides. A thick silence followed; it was almost suffocating. Lo felt as if she couldn't breathe. "I'm no colder to you than any other." He spoke without turning back. Lo felt like her heart was being slowly crushed. "But... we are-" Lo fumbled with her words. "Enough. You are a child; you can't possibly understand the complications of our situation." Tristan growled as he spun around. His dark green eyes met her crystal blues with a fierce look. "I... I don't understand. My mother said you would cherish me from the moment we met... until our dying days." Lo said as she felt the hot tears start to drip down her cheeks. She knew she was young and naive, but she was no child. She was nearly grown. "She was wrong. I'm already mated; I will not abandon her. My father wants you dead. I shouldn't have stopped him." Tristan said with an icy tone as he turned and slammed the door on the way out. Lo could barely get her breath. She felt crushed, and it was more than emotional.
