After Ashfur has been defeated, and Bramblestar has been returned to his own body, new problems start to arise from within the clans themselves.

Darkpaw had always thought of the clans as the safest space for cats, but when he starts feeling something he shouldn't, his thoughts are quickly changed.

Rockpaw was one of the best apprentices in the Clans. His skills far succeeded many fully-trained warriors, but one day, he met a cat that started to take up his mind and distract him from training.

Thawpaw's dream was always to become a medicine cat, and she succeeds until she sees all the blood spilled just because of two cats. A feeling that no one else seems to have felt before causes her to go with the two onto a journey to parts unknown.

Sunpaw is a mediator apprentice until the Clans get too angry to listen to anyone. She decides she cannot do this anymore, and follows the two cats on their journey.
