Blood is thicker than water- a phrase many have heard and implemented in their everyday lives. For the Knighton brothers, it was more than just a phrase. For them it was a motto, their creed. It meant that nobody, friend or love interest, was above the familial bonds- by blood they were bound together and an outsider would be laid to rest before they could even attempt to break up the ties that held the family together. 'Blood runs thicker than water' they say. Those who you share the same blood as - you know your family - are meant to be more important than those who don't. But it's ironic really, the way the saying got messed up over time until it means the complete opposite. The full saying is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb'. That the blood from the bonds you share with your chosen family are thicker than the water from the covalent womb you share with your blood relations. Going from a family of 8 to 1 was a challenge for Amelia, but what happens when her 5 brothers try showing back up?
