"Two best friends, a trip through a mystical land, and a stranger that will change it all."

Trying to figure out if she chose the right career, dealing with a broken heart, keeping up with uni papers and work... That's already enough of a challenge that stresses out this 20 year old control-freak.

So add a whole bunch of family secrets, a trip overseas with her best friend, and some eerie flashbacks, and you get a hell of an adventure.

[This is a new adult/magical realism novel]

FINISHED STORY! ! Aprox 100.000 words

Warning: Contains coarse language, and non-explicit adult scenes.

NOTE: After writing this, I noticed a whole lot of problems in my own writing. There are issues I opened up in this tale because I wanted to dig deeper, and never did. I noticed my own internalized phobias when reading, and please, if anyone feels offended or triggered about any of it, call me out. I'm trying to do better. It might have bad rep or offensive content that I'm looking into. This story will be completely re-written once I figure some things out. Also, I know the culture explored in this book (maori culture) is not my own, but after living for many years in New Zealand, I feel that it's part of me, and by no means did I mean this to be offensive to anyone. I hope it's not. I intended this as a "tribute" to a culture that I found rich, enlightening, and that accepted me with open arms.

46 parts Complete Mature
*EDITORS' CHOICE 2021*After falling for her senior year teacher, Louise learns a harsh lesson on what adulthood isn't. Louise has some trauma to unpack. Heartbreak's a bitch, and her first relationship had been anything but normal. Thinking herself mature for her age, her affair with Mr. Cain started swooningly well. Except things ended quite abruptly. It's a lot for a seventeen year old to handle. But who's really at fault for what happened? Who even is Mr. Cain, and what is he hiding? From the wreckage of her naivety and self-esteem, can Louise save her friendships and rebuild herself? Our love songs aren't telling the whole truth. How can this be? In this tale of vulnerability, adolescence and painful reckoning, the arrogance of youth demands a price. * "'You're what, Louise?' he asked. 'You're sorry? What am I supposed to do here? How can I turn this around? How can I tell you that everything you want and feel is reciprocated, when I have to go back to work and pretend none of it happened?' 'I don't know the answer!' I cried. 'Neither of us do.' I threw my hands up in defeat. He caught them before they could fall. 'But how do I go back to living without your words?' His voice became a whisper. He squeezed my fingers tightly, closing his eyes and bringing them to his chest. 'I need how you make me feel, Luiza. I need it to feel alive. I won't stay away. No one's made me feel this good before. And I can't stand myself for wanting what I want. What do I do?' I was a violin bow on the verge of splintering. Every inch of me pulsed with an ache that began from the marrow of my bones. Fate had brought us here. At this crossroads of ours, there were a hundred different choices to make. A thousand different lifetimes to choose from, stemming from and decided entirely by my next choice. And in the end, I chose incorrectly. I held his face between my hands, feeling the echoing pulse of his skin. I brought his face to mine. I kissed him."

Life ended quietly. Rebirth? Not so much. I'd lived a perfectly normal nerd-life: a family, a career, too many hobbies, and a purse full of "just-in-case" items. Gardening, old crafting techniques, reading, manga, animé-especially the alternate-world kind. If I had one regret, it was not traveling as much as I'd wanted. But all things end eventually. I expected nothingness... or whatever reward awaited after a long, fulfilling life. Instead, I woke up to the very real problem of a massive creature trying to eat me. I'd been reborn into another world. I should have been thrilled, right? With very little to go on-aside from the fact that magic existed here-I decided the smartest approach was to keep a low profile and train like crazy. Survive first. Explore later. My new family seemed pleasantly surprised (and occasionally alarmed) by my dedication to both physical and magical training. And once I started attending school, I made fast friends... then accidentally convinced them to apprentice under my father. The more the merrier, I figured. But hiding my abilities is proving harder than expected, and the more I grow, the more certain people seem unsettled by my existence. Surviving to adulthood may be the real challenge. *This is a slow-burn, coming-of-age story with early magic training. It is not a romance-yet. **This series is marked Mature not for explicit content in this volume, but because later books will include heavier themes. I prefer to err on the side of caution. ***I am a Canadian author. 31 parts Complete Mature

Lingling Kwong is the East Kingdom's secret "Mad Dog". A battle mage who lives only for the thrill of the kill, known as a legend-the greatest swordmaster of all time. For a political alliance, she is forced to marry Princess Orm from the North, a woman as beautiful and ethereal as the first snow. Lingling's mother gives her a simple out: if you don't like your wife, you may kill her and come back. But upon meeting her, Lingling is shocked to find herself-the kingdom's most powerful warrior-being treated like a fragile piece of glass by her stunningly devoted wife. Will an unexpected romance bloom, or will the Mad Dog eventually kill the beautiful woman who smothers her? A/N: This is an adaptation to a manhwa I have read few years ago that somehow I forgot the name of the manhwa but the concept stayed in my head. With that, the concept of this story is based on that manhwa though every chapter and plot that would come is based on my delulu. Happy Reading! SLOW UPDATES!! Reason: Hard to write HAHAHAHA
