I had always avoided that question every time I met someone in this hospital. I didn't want anybody pitying me. I'm tired of all the apologizing when they didn't even do anything.
"My sister has breast cancer." I lied.
I barely knew what breast cancer was.
I didn't even know half of the stuff about my cancer.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Yeah," I whispered.
The sounds of Troy playing with the fake stove filled in our silence.
"So what do you do outside of looking out for your brother?"
He coughed. Then he started rubbing the back of his neck like he was nervous.

"Um not that much. My family's kind of poor so can't do anything but work to get money for his treatments," Parker replied, nodding his head at Troy.
