A non-stereotypical medieval love story with a few sharp twist and turns.

**
Clarise Biks is 22, living with her demon of a widowed mother, and filled with enough courage to murder even the trickiest of fairies. Her best friend is Amelia Stallie, and Amelia is the youngest of the royal family.
King Stallie is definitely one of a kind. He is absolutely senseless, but his wife and Amelia help keep him in check as the rest of the family fools around.

It's been a few years since Bentley Harne had become the 2nd in command of the King's army. Matter-a-fact, it seemed as if King Stallie viewed Bentley as his own son.. One would expect him and one of the king's daughters to get married, but Bentley's eyes are seemingly always on a fresh pear pie, and not a woman. Though, that love for sweet, warm pie, may have been what made his heart as sweet as it is.
