Amaris is Irish for moonchild. Her mom said she named her after the moon because when she first held her, she swore she held the moon in her hands. Her whole life she felt this connection to the moon, like somehow her soul was tethered to its light. Then her pack was killed off and she was the only one left. She had to learn to run from the moon, because bad things are lurking in the night. 

Ciaran is Irish for dark. He was born from pain and darkness, it fitted him like a crown, and he wore it with pride. He was the worst kind of monster, not born but made. He has been waiting his whole life for a little wolf to stubble into his trap and drag her into his darkness.
