Despite the growing danger of their forest home, and the sinister creatures who constantly assail the borders of the Woodland Realm, she lives in a veil of bliss. Thranduil's people have grown to respect their bold princess, and Legolas dotes on his darling wife. 

Until, that is, a familiar face shows up unexpectedly in Mirkwood. With him he brings a creature both piteous and deceitful. The arrival sparks a chain of events which leads Legolas and Nesseldë on a perilous journey - one which will decide the very fate of  Middle Earth.

Many grim things Ness will learn, and this most of all: everything she thinks she knows is a lie.
