Serving under Captain John Price and Captain Soap MacTavish wasn't the easiest thing to do because of how high the expectations were but it was something that he could handle. Even in the toughest times, Roach knew he could make it out of any dangerous situation and keep the promise that he made to his older brother. [I've kind of mashed the canon from them. essentially it sources the comics for the past, references the original modern warfare lineup for Roach and then the last segment lines up with the events of the newer MW2, this was to kind of create my own timeline for the remake. hope that helps!] Ghost had killed off his life outside the military many years ago, as a result scars from past trauma had never fully healed due to years of neglect and ignorance in the hopes they'd go away on their own. When being forced to face those scars over Christmas he quickly realised he couldn't do it without Johnny 'soap' Mactavish, a Sergeant he was loosely acquainted with. In doing so he's forced to go against his self-hatred, his longing for affection and the loss of a teammate near to him.
