All Clarissa Tate's life she's been taught three things. First, Never snitch. "First rule of fight club" as Issa likes to put it. You rat you die, doesn't matter if you're snitching on the runts or a rival gang. The penalty for breaking this rule is worse than death. Second, is that second place is not an option. Fight to the top, perfection will either be earned or forced. And third, emotion clouds judgement. Alliances other than blood make you weak.
Those three rules have been engraved into Issa's mind every single day. And she followed them... mostly. Being the perfect daughter definitely isn't what it's cracked up to be when your father is known as one of the most feared and revered gang lords in the country. (Well, to those that've been invited to the big kid table anyway.) But it's easier to be perfect when there are no distractions, friends, or drama. Well, that's all about to change. Victore Academy boarding school is a lot of things. To the outside world, it's the heaven of schools. For some students, it's an experience they'll never forget. For others, it's the place to start their careers. And maybe for a few, it's the peak of their lives and really as good as it's going to get for them. And for me... well, I'll need a bit more than this to talk about that. But before you step in, here's a few things that everyone makes note of: 1. The students have secrets. And money. It's hard to tell what more of, honestly. 2. Don't get a room on the West Side of the girl's dorms. The birds around that private property lake house downside from campus don't stop chirping at 5AM. It's unpleasant, to say the least. 3. Avoid Mr. Labadee's classroom at all costs outside of lessons, especially past fifth period. It's better off if you're left in the dark with this one. 4. That asshole from Spain that terrorizes all the young freshmen is not hot. However, girls do make note of the fact that he works out post seventh period and right before first, near the track field. 5. The Victor's Tournament happens every year for all the senior year students. It's a pretty big deal. 6.
