He leaned close again, and I felt as if I couldn't breathe, like he sucked all the oxygen out of me. I held his gaze, the silver enveloping me again, but this time warm, not intrusive. He persisted, tilting his head, slowly progressing towards me, eyes never leaving mine.
Maybe in another universe, I would have been just a girl, tucked away in an empty corridor, a beautiful cloudy-eyed boy breathing my air and pressing against me. In another universe, the prolonged locked gaze was loving, was one of yearning.
