All Jace had been focused on was getting him and Alec away from Valentine. He had not meant to portal them to a different space. Stuck, and now having to figure out how in the world they were going to manage to handle a totally different time without being too suspicious, and help with this clock issue they have going on, Jace and Alec are already dealing with enough. Not to mention the recent torture Jace suffered at Valentine's hands, and the skewed mental state for both of them, it would be a miracle to get out.

Ben Lightwood, twin brother of Alec Lightwood, has been missing for over a month. When Clary finally rescues Jace and Ben, she portals all three of them to Magnus' apartment as she knows he is the only one who can help. Both Alec and Magnus are shocked to see them, especially Ben. Ben's injuries are too severe for him to be at the Institute, they needed a warlock's magic. Basically, what would happen if Alec had a twin brother named Ben. ------ A/N: The story begins with Jace's thoughts when he goes through he portal with Valentine at the end of 1x13. In this story, all events of Season 1 of Shadowhunters have happened, but it won't really go along with Season 2 as I started writing this before it, and most of the trailers for it, came out. Alec Lightwood is 21 years old and has promptly been arrested for being complicit in a group assault on a older gentleman that tried to commit rape on his younger sister, Isabelle Lightwood. The punishment is 5 years behind bars and not enough with that, the one who captured Alec is his very own brother, Jace Herondale. Jace has been a part of the NY police department for about a year now and even though his own sister was the victim this time, he can't choose family before his job. He swore an ode when he first got his badge and that is something he won't give up on that easy, not even for Alec. 5 years in prison may seem like an eternity and that is exactly what Alec expects it to be, but what he didn't expect was to meet Magnus Bane. He's 23 years old and arrested for murdering his very own stepfather, but the reason isn't what everyone thinks it is. It's much worse. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Magnus doesn't quiet know what's real or not, but one thing he knows for sure is that ever since Alec Lightwood arrived at the prison, the voices in his head has begun to disappear.
