This is a story of Mahnoor a.k.a Noori, a typical Hausa Yoruba girl, born and raised in kano, the northern part of Nigeria.
Mahnoor isn't only an average beautiful thick girl, she also the soft, caring and loving person a friend, a sister, a brother, a father, a mother or a lover could ever asked for.
But alot of people took her softness, her kindness, her caring attitude for granted, even amongst the ones she calls friends, she was always the one person they always over work, mock and ridicule, but she was ever loyal, even to boyfriends that always took her overlooking character for granted.
But just at the right, everything changed, her love life, her father's financial status, everything changed and so did Mahnoor.
Join me on this short but yet educative and exciting journey of Mahnoor and those surrounding her.
For the past three years, Yesmi has dreamt of only one thing; moving to New York to live with her mother. Surprisingly, an engagement, a phone call, and a father pushed out of the way is all it takes for that dream to come to life.
Great, right? Not really. The angel in charge of ensuring her smooth stay in New York is doing a wonderfully bad job. From having to deal with a 'from-the-onset' strained relationship with her stepbrother to getting into a face-off with a bouncer 4 times her size, to publicly embarrassing herself in the school café, to falling out with all the wrong people . . . the list of chaotic situations never end.
When these happenings move from partly amusing to horrifying, Yesmi is about to acknowledge the hardest way, that from within dreams, emerge nightmares.
