With Lily dead, James clinging to life, and Harry already afflicted with his lightening bolt scar, she shows James, plus a newly-arrived Sirius, her memories, leading to an entirely different outcome to the Wizarding War, now that they know about Horcruxes, as well as the notion that Albus Dumbledore is not the benevolent wizard they all believed.
