It's a new era in the country of Idris. The royal Lightwood family are getting ready for their oldest son Alec to complete his selection. They will face trials of loyalty, decision-making and love as well as great sacrifices to save the family name.
Lydia Fairchild is a five the lowest of castes but higher then the sixes ( the nothings ) , her brother and father died when she was young, her twin sister Clary and mother are all she has left. When Lydia gets selected for prince Alec's selection she drops everything for the opportunity to drag her family out of poverty and for the chance to become something more then a lousy five.
After Clary's sister was chosen to partake in prince Alec's selection her life has gone from calm to hectic in a matter of seconds. Not only was her sister shipped away to the center of Idris leaving Clary alone with her overprotective mother, but her best friend Simon has been acting weird and her boyfriend is being more distant than usual. Can she pull her life together before the annual winter ball at the palace or is she destined for bad luck?

The greatest Shadowhunter of his generation is what they say about the legendary Jace Wayland. But, what you don't know, is that they also say the same of his twin sister, Serena. For Serena is many things. She is the Clave Envoy to Downworlders. She is the parabatai to Isabelle Lightwood. And Serena herself, is a Lightwood, because she's married to none other than Alec Lightwood. Having grown up together, the four of them made a promise that whenever they go on a mission, four go in and four come out. Join them as they fight to keep that promise when their world is turned upside down by the introduction of Clary Fairchild, the fiery daughter of the biggest threat to the Shadow World, Valentine Morgenstern. Will they stay together? And above all, will they stay alive? #1 in aleclightwood #1 in isabellelightwood #1 in jacewayland #1 in cityofbones #1 in valentinemorgenstern #1 in jonathanmorgenstern #1 in shadowhuntersfanfiction #1 in magnusbane #1 in lightwood #1 in shadowhunters #1 in downworlders #1 in themortalinstruments #1 in claryfairchild #5 in magic #9 in demons (Seasons 1-3) (Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters or the plotline. Also, I still suck at descriptions but we're not surprised.)
